Hyderabad Traffic Police Book 1,940 Cases in Special Drive Against Driving Without Licence
The Hyderabad Traffic Police conducted a special enforcement drive from 01 March 2026 to 07 March 2026 across the city to curb motorists driving without a valid Driving Licence.
During the week-long drive, traffic police officers checked vehicles at multiple locations and verified the licences of motorists. As a result, 1,940 cases were booked under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
Officials stated that driving without a valid licence is a serious violation of traffic laws and poses a significant risk to both the driver and other road users. Such violations often lead to road accidents, injuries, and property damage.
Police further warned that if a person without a valid driving licence is involved in an accident, insurance companies may reject the claim, leaving the driver or vehicle owner responsible for all damages and expenses.
The Hyderabad Traffic Police advised all motorists to carry a valid driving licence at all times and strictly follow traffic rules. They also urged parents and vehicle owners not to allow minors or unlicensed persons to drive vehicles.
Authorities confirmed that similar enforcement drives will continue in the future to improve road safety and protect the public.
