Bike Theft Accused Arrested – Three Stolen Vehicles Recovered
The Afzalgunj Police have successfully apprehended a habitual bike theft offender and recovered three stolen two-wheelers, detecting three cases registered under Section 305(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
👤 Accused Details
The arrested accused has been identified as Md. Riyaz Uddin @ Riyaz (39 years), a liquor depot worker and resident of Amberpet, Hyderabad. He was reportedly involved in multiple bike thefts within the limits of Afzalgunj Police Station.
🗓️ How the Case Unfolded
The case came to light on 11.02.2026 following a complaint regarding the theft of a motorcycle from the premises of Osmania General Hospital (OGH) in Hyderabad.
The stolen vehicle was a Hero Splendour Plus (AP.15.S7697). During the investigation, police teams examined CCTV footage and conducted local inquiries, which led to the apprehension of the accused.

🔍 Modus Operandi
Investigation revealed that the accused, allegedly addicted to alcohol and other vices, committed the thefts using duplicate keys. The vehicles were stolen from different locations including:

Ashok Bazar
OGH Premises
The stolen vehicles were intended to be sold for financial gain.

The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigation is in progress to ascertain if he is involved in additional cases.
