Hyderabad: A controversy has emerged after BJP leader Andela Sriramulu Yadav alleged that Rohingya Muslim children are studying at Nooria Co-Op Junior College in the Old City.
Andela Sriramulu Yadav, who contested the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections from the Maheshwaram constituency as a BJP candidate, visited the college along with his supporters. He alleged that children of illegal Rohingya migrants had been admitted to the institution with the support of AIMIM.
According to CCTV footage from the college, the BJP leader and his supporters entered the campus and asked the staff to produce student records. They also sought information regarding two specific students.
College Principal Mohammed Ghaziuddin filed a complaint at Santosh Nagar Police Station, describing the allegations as false and baseless. He stated that the group entered the college in his absence, argued with staff members, and recorded videos without permission.
According to police, no criminal case has been registered in connection with the incident so far. The allegations regarding the admission of Rohingya students have not been independently verified or confirmed by the police or any government authority.
