✅ State Medical and Health Minister Shri Damodar Rajanarsimha held a high-level review meeting with private hospital owners on Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act (THOTA) policy design and implementation of Clinical Establishment Act at his office in the Secretariat. Organ transplant treatments were discussed with private hospital owners in the review.
✅ The minister ordered the authorities on this occasion to simplify the regulations to encourage organ donations. In organ transplant treatment, Telangana state has to be a model for other states in the country. Medical Health officials and private hospital owners discussed the comprehensive policy design required for effective implementation of the Organ Donations Act in the state.
✅ Minister expressed anger over the prices of organ transplant treatments in private hospitals. The minister suggested private holdings to control prices in a way that even common people bear the cost of organ transplant treatments. Private hospital management responded positively to the suggestions made by Minister Sri Damodar Rajanarsimha. The minister said that hospitals should take special measures not to waste the organs donated by the donors.
✅ On this occasion, the minister has ordered the authorities to draft new rules for patients coming for organ transplantation from other countries. Minister asked and learned about the problems faced by private hospitals on this occasion. The government is providing the necessary support for the organ transplant treatments in the medical health department. Permits have been given to 4 hospitals for hand transplant treatment in the state.
