The sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force, Khairatabad Zone Team, Hyderabad, apprehended one involved in manufacturing and selling adulterated ginger and garlic paste in Cr. No. 18/2026 under Sections 318(4) and 275 BNS of Lake Police Station.
Acting on credible information, the Task Force conducted a surprise inspection at a premises near Railway Gate, MS Maqtha, Hyderabad, where the accused, Jasani Ilyan (21), owner of JJ Food and resident of Abids, was found preparing ginger and garlic paste under highly unhygienic conditions. The paste was stored in open plastic tubs exposed to dust and flies, making it unsafe for human consumption. The accused was allegedly supplying the adulterated product to kirana stores and customers across Hyderabad for illegal profit. The printed FSSAI license number on the products was found to be expired.
During the raid, police seized approximately 4000 kilograms of adulterated ginger and garlic paste in various packaging sizes, along with two grinding machines, turmeric powder, acetic acid, 1000 kgs of salt, and a goods transport auto. The accused and seized material were handed over to the SHO, Lake PS, for further legal action.
